Quilt # 67

I started making hexagons with the thought of making a queen size quilt for my guest room. I was making the squares individually already sandwiched. I hand drew and cut the leaves and I used quarter inch ribbon for the stems. At some point I decided that I really didn't want to make that many hexagon flowers! I was taking a string piecing class at Quilt U at the time ( a UFO for another time) and thought that I could improvise and make some of the blocks half string pieced. I really like the way it turned out. I quilted a hexagon flower shape in the white side of the string pieced blocks. Once again - as with my world cruise t-shirt quilt it is rag quilted to the back.
